Though the 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited boasts a classic design and iconic retro looks, don’t expect to feel like you’re driving around in something that belongs in 1940s. The Wrangler has been updated in an array of beautiful ways for the current model year, and comes chock full of cutting-edge creature comforts and technology. Add an array of sophisticated engines on hand to be fitted under the hood, and it feels like something that might’ve played a role in a futuristic version of WWII that takes place in a parallel dimension.
Luxurious comforts available to be enjoyed within the 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited include such tasty amenities as leather upholstery, touchscreen infotainment with in-dash navigation, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a power soft top. Note that the Unlimited model, which we’re looking at here, has four doors, in contrast to the two-door body style of the standard model.
If iconic design, legendary off-road capability, and more modern technology than ever sound like appealing traits to you, you’ll likely get quite a kick out of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Additionally, it’s still (for the time being) the only vehicle to boast a removable roof and doors.
For 2021, two new powertrains have been introduced to the Wrangler Unlimited: a plug-in hybrid 4xe and a 470-horsepower V8. The latter inhabits the exciting new top-tier Rubicon 392 trim. In addition to new trims and engine options, a few smaller changes have been made to this beloved machine for 2021.
The new plug-in hybrid 4xe powerplant combines a turbocharged engine with an electric motor to churn out 375 horsepower. In addition to the added strength, the electric motor can deliver up to 40 kilometers of electric-only driving.
The new 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 trim is for those who want the ultimate Wrangler. This model is fitted with 33-inch tires and top-tier off-roading gear. Other new trims include an 80th Anniversary Edition and unique Islander model.
