The first thing that you are going to want to look at in any truck comparison is those capability numbers. When it comes to towing, the RAM 1500 is able to outperform the Silverado by a significant margin. The RAM 1500 even has an available auto-leveling air-ride suspension for 2019. The same cannot be said for the Silverado. This is where we say, “But wait, there’s more!”
The modern truck needs to be versatile. It’s not just a workhorse, it’s also an office, a family vehicle, and more. As such, you need the latest tech, and that’s why the 2019 RAM 1500 provides a massive 12-inch Uconnect touchscreen. It can even be used in split-screen mode to essentially be two touch screens in one.
Even if you look at what the base models offer, you will find more standard power in the 2019 RAM 1500. The base model RAM 1500 Tradesman comes standard with 305 horsepower. The Silverado 1500 can only give you 285 standard horsepower.
Perhaps even more impressively, the RAM 1500 uses an available mild-hybrid setup called eTorque. It gives you more torque as its name would imply, but it can also give you better efficiency. The available 5.7-liter V8 with eTorque provides 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque with an extra 130 pound-feet of launch torque.
