About a year after launching its first-ever plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV), the 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe, Jeep is anticipating the launch of its second PHEV and its first-ever plug-in electric hybrid Grand Cherokee called the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. The Grand Cherokee 4xe has already garnered much attention because the standard Jeep Grand Cherokee is the No.1 selling SUV and the most awarded North American SUV. If you want to know some of the key specs of the forthcoming Grand Cherokee 4xe before it launched, then keep reading this blog post from Stony Plain Chrysler.
When it launches, the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe will be the most luxurious and planet-friendly full-size SUV, bringing in all the goodies from the standard 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee and combining them with Jeep’s powerful yet efficient plug-in electric hybrid technology.
Upon its launch, the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe will be available in five trims – Grand Cherokee Limited 4xe, Grand Cherokee Trailhawk® 4xe, Grand Cherokee Overland 4xe, Grand Cherokee Summit 4xe, and the top-end Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve 4xe. All Grand Cherokee 4xe models will be powered by a class-exclusive PHEV powertrain featuring a 2.0L turbocharged engine and a hybrid electric motor. This efficient combination produces 375 horsepower and an incredible 470 pound-feet of torque, all while offering the legendary 4×4 capabilities of the Jeep Grand Cherokee and a maximum towing capacity of 6,000 pounds!

This efficient driving mode provides maximum horsepower along with instant torque and impressive acceleration. In the electric mode, the Grand Cherokee 4xe will run entirely on electric power and offer an estimated 24-mile all-electric range and a 440-mile total combined driving range with a fully charged battery and a full tank of gas.
You’ll be able to fully charge the battery of the Grand Cherokee 4xe in about 12 hours with the provided Level 1 charging cable.
