The latest version of the Jeep Wrangler offers multiple updates for the new model year. One of the highlighting changes made to the new Wrangler is the addition of a four-cylinder engine option. Traditionalist may raise their eyebrows at a four-cylinder engine, but the 2018 Jeep Wrangler turbo four-cylinder engine performance ratings are impressive.
2018 Jeep Wrangler Engine Options
Three engine options are offered on the 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The first is the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Performance ratings for this engine check in at 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Fuel economy ratings for 2018 Wrangler models equipped with the four-cylinder engine check in at 9.4 L/100 km highway (30 mpg) and 10.5 L/100 km city (27 mpg).

The 2018 Wrangler will continue to offer the Pentastar V-6 engine. This 3.6-liter V-6 turns in performance ratings of 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The engine can be paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic transmission.
In addition to the two gasoline engines, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler will offer a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel engine. Performance ratings for this engine check in at 260 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. The diesel engine is also paired with the eight-speed automatic transmission. The diesel engine will be available on the 2018 Wrangler starting in 2019.
